The Reencle Ownership Routine: Material Bed, Moisture, Energy, and Harvest
Reencle ownership is a retained-bed routine, not a finish-and-empty batch. The owner adds a separate starter and water, keeps material at or above MIN., checks moisture before feeding, leaves the unit powered, corrects bed conditions when needed, and harvests only from MAX down to MIN. Compare that complete routine, not one capacity or speed claim.
Begin with the setup inventory
Reencle's Prime setup page lists the main unit and Compost Starter 1.0 as separate box contents. It tells the owner to pour the full starter pack into the chamber, add about 1.8 L of water, turn the unit on, and wait 3–6 hours before the first food input.

Gravity and Gravity Pro use a different setup: Reencle describes a separately supplied starter and booster and a 6–8-hour wait. Model-specific instructions should stay attached to the named model.

The useful ownership distinction is narrow. The starter is an owner-added input, not installed hardware. It still matters to the prescribed routine. See the fuller hardware-versus-starter classification.
The material bed stays in the chamber
Reencle tells owners to keep retained material at or above the MIN line. Its support guidance says the starter may be used "semi-permanently" with proper care and names complete liquefaction as a replacement condition.

That retained inventory changes the reset point. A finish-and-empty appliance returns its removable vessel to empty after a chosen batch. Reencle's ordinary routine preserves a bed across additions and harvests. Neither pattern is automatically better; they require different owner decisions.
Separate chamber volume from daily feeding
Reencle's current feeding page lists a 14 L chamber for Prime and 22 L for Gravity and Gravity Pro. On that same page, the maker recommends daily input up to 700 g for Prime and 1 kg for Gravity and Gravity Pro. Chamber space and daily input are not interchangeable measures.

The page also tells the owner to wait until the prior input has been processed and assess bed moisture before feeding. A calendar saying "feed daily" therefore leaves out two gates: what remains from the previous addition and what condition the retained bed is in now.
Moisture is an operating check, not a footnote
Once the retained material has become soil-like, Reencle recommends a squeeze test: material that holds its shape and crumbles when pressed indicates suitable moisture; dripping indicates excessive moisture, while immediate crumbling indicates dryness. When the bed is wet or clumped, the maker tells the owner to pause feeding.
Its wet-bed recovery guide can require stopping all food additions, removing pooled moisture, retaining material at MIN, and using a 24-hour Dry mode only as a supplement to the corrective steps.

This is the practical comparison question: are you comfortable observing and maintaining retained material between additions, or do you prefer discrete batches with a visible emptying event?
Continuous power is part of the routine
Reencle tells owners to keep the unit powered during normal use. Its model overview publishes an average of 52 W and 1.25 kWh per day for Prime, and 47 W and 1.13 kWh per day for Gravity and Gravity Pro.

These are Reencle’s published estimates. The public page does not disclose a household test recipe, ambient conditions, sample distribution, or independent meter record. "Keep powered" also does not mean every motor, fan, or heater draws one constant wattage all day.
For a same-basis ownership comparison, record energy over the same period as food added and material removed. Daily electricity without the corresponding input and retained inventory is incomplete.
Treat odor source and odor treatment as separate tasks
Reencle says its Purify control raises fan speed for 24 hours and sends air through the carbon filter. The same controls page says Purify does not fix underlying moisture, cleanliness, or input balance causes.
That distinction is useful beyond one brand. A carbon path may treat air that reaches it; it cannot by itself correct wet retained material, residue, or an unsuitable food mix. Diagnose the source, the air path, and the capture medium separately.

Harvest from MAX to MIN, then follow the destination rule
Reencle's ordinary harvest trigger is the MAX line. It tells owners to scoop material only down to MIN, put undecomposed pieces back, and continue with the retained bed.

For planting or seeding, Reencle's use page prescribes mixing four parts soil with one part removed material, keeping it in a breathable container for 3–4 weeks, and mixing at least every three days. The same page separately describes immediate surface mulching.

A complete ownership checklist
Before choosing a retained-bed system, ask:
- Which starter, booster, and water inputs does this model require at setup?
- What material must remain in the chamber, and how is its condition assessed?
- What are the chamber volume and recommended daily input as separate numbers?
- When should feeding pause because the prior input or moisture gate is not ready?
- What stays powered, and what energy was measured over the same operating window?
- Which odor problems call for source correction, cleaning, airflow checks, or carbon service?
- What exact MAX-to-MIN harvest and post-removal route does the maker prescribe?
A finish-and-empty electric composter has a different operating boundary: the stated result is dry, ground food-scrap material, and the removable vessel can return to empty after a batch. Compare the repeated work and inventory you want to own.
FAQ
Does Reencle return to an empty chamber after every harvest? No, not in its ordinary published routine. Reencle tells owners to harvest when material reaches MAX, remove only down to MIN, return undecomposed pieces, and preserve the retained bed. That is a different reset point from a finish-and-empty batch appliance.
Is Reencle's chamber size the same as its daily input? No. Reencle lists chamber volume and recommended daily input separately. Its feeding guidance also asks the owner to assess the previous addition and bed moisture before adding more. A chamber number should not be presented as guaranteed daily throughput.
Does continuous power mean Reencle uses one fixed wattage all day? No. Reencle publishes average-power and daily-energy figures and tells owners to keep the unit on, but its public specification page does not show a constant-load trace or independent household test. Compare metered energy over the same food-input and harvest window.
Can fresh Reencle harvest go directly around plants? Follow the exact maker and local guidance for the intended destination. Reencle separates a claimed immediate surface-mulch route from planting or seeding, for which it prescribes a 4:1 soil mix and 3–4 weeks in a breathable container. Those instructions are not independent maturity proof.
