Is this real compost?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. What comes out is dry, ground food scraps, about 90% less waste by volume. Add it to a garden bed or a compost pile and it finishes there. Machines that promise finished compost in four hours are the reason this category has a trust problem.
Will my kitchen smell?
The air leaves through two parallel activated-carbon channels before it leaves the machine. There's also a fan-only storage mode for the hours between cooking and running a cycle. It's a carbon filter, not magic — but it's why this sits on a counter instead of in a garage.
Will it fit my counter?
9.8" wide × 14.3" deep × 11.8" high, 19.2 lbs. It clears a standard upper cabinet and holds 100 oz — about a full day of cooking for four to six people, with roughly 68 oz as a comfortable batch.
How loud is it?
39 dB, measured. Most people run it overnight and don't think about it. We won't call it silent.
What if the blade jams?
It shouldn’t. The motor grinds one way, and the moment it meets something it can’t cut, it reverses and works the piece down slowly — heat and patience instead of force. That’s how a cycle gets through chicken bones, ribs and corn cobs.
What if I don't like it?
Run it in your own kitchen for 90 days. If it's not right, send it back — no restocking fee. You cover return shipping for a change of mind; we cover it if the machine is faulty.
What happens if something breaks?
It's covered by a two-year limited warranty. Email or call us and we'll sort it. Every wear part on this machine — blade, bucket, lid, carbon — is sold separately on this site, so a broken part never means a dead machine.
Do I have to buy pods or subscribe to anything?
No. No pods, no cartridges, no subscription, no auto-charge. One bag of activated carbon is in the box. When it's spent — about every three months, or 45 cycles — you buy a $29.99 bag and pour it in yourself.
How much electricity does it use?
About 1 kWh per 4-hour cycle. For most US households that's a few cents a run.
